In brief: the MSI GeForce RTX 4060 Gaming X NV Edition was a limited edition of 6,000 units, launched in 2023 in a few European countries, featuring a green shroud in NVIDIA colours. Technically, it’s a standard RTX 4060: 8GB of GDDR6 and solid 1080p performance. In 2026, it’s outclassed by the RTX 5060 (+24% in 1080p according to Tom’s Hardware) and especially by the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, which we recommend for a new PC.
What was the RTX 4060 NV Edition?
In 2023, MSI launched a series of limited editions, with a new product revealed every week at select retailers. The RTX 4060 Gaming X NV Edition used the dual-fan cooling from the Gaming X range, but with a green shroud that recalls the NVIDIA logo, and a black-and-green package. It was limited to 6,000 units and reserved for a few European countries, including France and the Netherlands.
Under the hood, nothing changes compared with the other RTX 4060s: it’s a collector’s edition, not a more powerful version.
In 2026, the RTX 50 cards took over from the RTX 4060 in the PCs powered by MSI.

Our assembler’s take: the RTX 4060 is still decent in 1080p, especially with DLSS, but its 8GB of video memory becomes tight in newer games, and it doesn’t have the multi-image generation feature of the RTX 50 series. If you already have one, keep it for 1080p. If you’re buying today, the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is 47% faster in 1080p and much more comfortable in 1440p. Why memory matters so much is explained in our article on the lack of VRAM.
