Intel Prepares to Launch an Arc Graphics Card Aimed at Creators

A 24GB ARC Pro Battlemage

According to Quantum Bits, Intel plans to double the capacity of its Arc-series graphics cards based on the Battlemage architecture. 

Although the outlet does not explicitly mention the Arc PRO line, it refers to a 24GB model intended for the "productivity market", which aligns well with the goal of this range.

Current and Future Specifications

The current Battlemage-series graphics card, called Arc B580, is based on the BGM-G21 GPU. It comes with a 192-bit memory bus and 12GB of GDDR6 memory. Intel also plans to launch an Arc B570 model, with a 160-bit bus and 10GB of memory, as early as 2025. 

However, there are not yet any immediate plans for higher-end models.

A Transition to a Pro Market

In the future, current versions of Battlemage cards will continue to target the gaming and consumer markets. By contrast, versions with 24GB of memory will primarily target the productivity market. This high-memory model could either increase capacity per module or include dual modules on each side.

Based on reports, this 24GB Arc PRO version could target data centres, edge computing and the education sector. However, its main advantage lies in AI inference—especially for large language models (LLMs) and generative AI. 

Intel already offers tools for AI-assisted creation, such as its updated AI Playground for generating images from text.

INTEL AND the story

Intel has never launched an Arc PRO model based on the ACM-G10 GPU, which is the largest in the Alchemist family. The most advanced model, the Arc PRO A60, is equipped with the ACM-G12 GPU. Intel has also developed a card called "Data Center GPU Flex 170", designed specifically for data centres.

So far, no release date or full specifications have been announced for the Battlemage models. However, with increased memory capacity and broader applications, Intel appears ready to expand its influence beyond gaming.
