CES 2024, which starts on 9 January, will once again put MSI in the spotlight, unveiling a range of revolutionary products that will shape the trends of the year.

New generation of QD-OLED gaming monitors
For 2024, MSI is raising the bar for its high-end gaming displays by introducing next-generation QD-OLED panels. This lineup will include a range of screens, both curved and flat, available in multiple sizes, up to 49 inches, and offering resolutions up to 4K. That way, every gamer can find the monitor that perfectly matches their needs.
These displays will also feature a Type-C port, capable of delivering up to 90 watts of power, and will fully support the HDMI 2.1 standard, providing transfer speeds of up to 48 Gb/s.
The alliance of Quantum Dot and OLED technologies for an exceptional HDR experience
MSI’s latest generation of QD-OLED gaming displays delivers an impressive fusion of OLED and Quantum Dot technologies.
OLED technology provides precise pixel-by-pixel illumination and deep blacks, while Quantum Dot technology enhances the experience with brighter images, finer details, sharper text, and a noticeable reduction in chromatic aberration.
These displays are also distinguished by their VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, ensuring an extended colour gamut, fine pixel-level dimming, and intense blacks for breathtaking dark scenes in HDR.
In addition to their exceptional colour and black capabilities, some MSI QD-OLED monitor models have undergone rigorous testing to achieve VESA ClearMR certification (up to ClearMR 13000). This certification is a sign of sharpness for moving images, similar to the impact that DisplayHDR certification has on HDR performance.
This certification is based on the ratio between sharp and blurred pixels in fast-moving scenes. For example, a monitor with a ClearMR 3000 certification offers between 2,500 and 3,500% more sharp pixels compared with blurred pixels. MSI’s QD-OLED displays achieved a ClearMR 13000 certification, indicating that they provide more than 12,500% additional sharp pixels compared with blurred pixels—an outstanding performance!
MSI includes a fanless cooling system and OLED Care 2.0 technology
MSI’s new generation of QD-OLED monitors is designed to take gaming and viewing experiences further. With near-instant response times (0.03 ms) and refresh rates of up to 360 Hz, these displays are at the cutting edge of technology.
To manage the heat generated by these advanced technologies, MSI has developed an innovative cooling system that combines a custom heat sink and a graphene film. This passive cooling system takes advantage of graphene’s outstanding thermal conductivity for heat dissipation that is both efficient and quiet, significantly extending the lifespan of QD-OLED displays.
In addition, MSI’s OLED Care 2.0 feature goes beyond the original OLED Care capabilities, such as pixel shifting, screen protection, and detection of static images. OLED Care 2.0 introduces extra features like multi-logo detection, taskbar detection, and edge detection, further minimising the risk of screen burn-in and ghost images—common issues with OLED displays over time.
Artificial intelligence for gaming: harnessing AI to enhance the details
Although QD-OLED displays deliver remarkable performance for colour and black in HDR, some SDR content may have limitations due to a lack of data. This situation can lead to a loss of detail in darker areas, which can be particularly frustrating in video games when trying to spot enemies or target objects.
Fortunately, artificial intelligence steps in to significantly improve the visual experience. Thanks to the Night Vision AI function, the screen can intelligently adjust brightness in dark scenes, revealing more details. This feature also boosts overall brightness and saturation based on the scene’s content, providing an optimised visual experience even in the toughest conditions.
MSI’s new lineup of QD-OLED gaming monitors
In 2024, MSI will launch a full range of QD-OLED gaming monitors, including an impressive 49-inch ultrawide model featuring a QD-OLED panel. This display, called the MPG 491CQP QD-OLED, was even recognised with an Innovation Award in two separate categories at CES 2024.
