NVIDIA RTX 5090/5080: GPUs announced with 32GB and 16GB of memory

The first confirmed rumours

Discussions have recently emerged regarding the memory capacity of the RTX 50 series. 

According to these rumours, the RTX 5090 would come with 32GB of VRAM, while the RTX 5080 would make do with 16GB. This information now appears to be confirmed by Orion 7000 technical sheets that we have been able to consult. 

Both models will be officially announced by NVIDIA at the CES 2025.

Expected technical specifications

• RTX 5080:
  • GPU: GB203-400 with 10,752 CUDA cores.
  • Memory: 16GB of GDDR7 on a 256-bit memory bus.
  • Power consumption: around 400W.
• RTX 5090:
  • GPU: GB202-300 with 21,760 CUDA cores.
  • Memory: 32GB of GDDR7.
  • Power consumption: less than 600W.

Imminent launch

NVIDIA has hinted that the RTX 50 series would be revealed very soon, highlighting its “GeForce 50 LAN” event at the CES 2025. 

Although no RTX 50 card has yet been officially unveiled, companies such as ZOTAC are actively preparing for their release, with product listings already created for several models.
