In brief:
- RTX 5060: the card for very high 1080p settings, with DLSS 4 and its multi-image generation for demanding games.
- RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB: around 20% more CUDA cores, the right choice for a 1080p 144 Hz screen or higher.
- RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB: the only one of the three we recommend for real 1440p use, thanks to its doubled memory.
- Our recommendation: a 5060 gaming PC with a Ryzen 5 5600 and 16 GB in dual channel, or a 5060 Ti gaming PC with 16 GB if you’re aiming for 1440p.
The RTX 5060 has become the “default” graphics card for mid-range gaming PCs. That’s because it ticks almost all the boxes for 1080p players: low power draw and it benefits from DLSS 4. The only thing left is choosing between RTX 5060, RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB and RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB: three names that are almost identical, and real differences in games.
A well-built RTX 5060 gaming PC runs 1080p without compromise and can handle 1440p. The 16 GB Ti version goes further. Here’s how to tell them apart, with the configurations we build in Genappe around these cards.

An RTX 5060 gaming PC in the middle of its setup: the most requested configuration for playing in 1080p
What is an RTX 5060 gaming PC worth in 2026?
An RTX 5060 gaming PC is a high-end 1080p machine: high settings in big games, very high frame rates in competitive titles, and DLSS 4 to give you some headroom. 1440p is still playable with upscaling, but with more modest settings.
Its strengths:
- 3,840 CUDA cores and 8 GB of GDDR7, the fastest memory available for mainstream users.
- 145 W card power draw: a quality 600 to 650 W PSU is more than enough.
- DLSS 4 with multi-image generation, reserved for RTX 50, which multiplies the images displayed in compatible games.
| Use | What you can expect from an RTX 5060 PC |
|---|---|
| Fortnite, Valorant, CS2, League of Legends | Very smooth 1080p, ideal with a 144 Hz or 165 Hz monitor |
| Recent big games (AAA) | 1080p on high settings, DLSS enabled |
| 1440p | Playable with DLSS, but a 1440p gaming PC is better suited to an RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB |
| Streaming, light editing | Latest-generation NVENC encoder, very efficient |
RTX 5060, RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB or 16 GB: what are the differences?
The three cards share the same architecture and the same 128-bit GDDR7 memory. The Ti adds 20% more CUDA cores, and the 16 GB version doubles the video memory. It’s that last point that matters most for lasting longer.
| RTX 5060 | RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB | RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB | |
|---|---|---|---|
| CUDA cores | 3,840 | 4,608 | 4,608 |
| Video memory | 8 GB GDDR7 | 8 GB GDDR7 | 16 GB GDDR7 |
| Bandwidth | 448 GB/s | 448 GB/s | 448 GB/s |
| Power draw (card) | 145 W | 180 W | 180 W |
| Ideal resolution | 1080p | High-framerate 1080p | 1080p and 1440p |
Our workshop take:
- If you play in 1080p: the RTX 5060 gets the job done; the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB adds frames per second for a fast monitor.
- If you’re targeting 1440p or you plan to keep your PC for four or five years: go for the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB. 8 GB is enough for the vast majority of games in 1080p; in 1440p with textures at maximum, the 16 GB gives you the headroom that prevents you from lowering settings.
- If you’re torn between the two Ti models: the price difference is small compared with the full PC. The 16 GB is almost always worth the extra cost.

The graphics card is installed last, once the cabling is neatly done.
What setup should you build around an RTX 5060?
A RTX 5060 or 5060 Ti pairs with a recent 6-core processor, 16 GB of RAM in dual channel, a 1 TB NVMe SSD, and a certified 650 W power supply. The details, part by part:
- Processor: the Ryzen 5 5600 is the most cost-effective option for 1080p. The Ryzen 7 5700X or the Core Ultra 5 245KF provide extra headroom for streaming and very CPU-intensive games.
- RAM: 16 GB in two sticks. With the RAM price increase in 2026, this is the right amount to keep the budget for the graphics card.
- Storage: 1 TB on NVMe. One large recent game often takes over 100 GB.
- Power supply: at least 650 W with 80 Plus Bronze, from a well-known brand. The card draws little power, but the PSU protects everything else.
- Cooling: a good air cooler is enough; a 240 mm watercooling system brings both quiet and style. You can read more in our guide to the PC gamer watercooling.

FAQ RTX 5060 gaming PC
What is the difference between an RTX 5060 PC and an RTX 5060 Ti PC?
The RTX 5060 Ti has 4,608 CUDA cores compared to 3,840 for the RTX 5060, and it comes in 8 or 16 GB versions. In practice, it delivers higher frames per second in 1080p and, in the 16 GB version, it holds up better at 1440p.
Is an RTX 5060 gaming PC enough for 1440p?
Yes, for occasional 1440p gaming with DLSS. For everyday 1440p use with high settings, we recommend an RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB or an RTX 5070.
8 GB of video memory, does that suffice in 2026?
In 1080p, yes in the vast majority of games. In 1440p with textures at maximum, some recent games need more, this is where the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB makes the difference.
What power supply for an RTX 5060 gaming PC?
A 600 to 650 W power supply certified 80 Plus Bronze from a reputable brand is enough for an RTX 5060 or 5060 Ti with a 6- or 8-core processor. Our RTX 5060 PCs are equipped with 600 to 750 W.
Does DLSS 4 work with the RTX 5060?
Yes. All RTX 50 cards, including the RTX 5060, support DLSS 4 and its multi-image generation in compatible games.
