New Elden Ring DLC: what’s been released since Shadow of the Erdtree (2026)

Tarnished Pack, Nightreign and the sequel

By the FlowUP team, gaming PC builder in Genappe (Belgium) · Updated 30 September 2026

In short: the latest true Elden Ring DLC is still Shadow of the Erdtree, released on 21 June 2024. Since then, FromSoftware has released Elden Ring Nightreign, a standalone cooperative game (30 May 2025), its DLC The Forsaken Hollows (4 December 2025), and then the Tarnished Pack on 28 August 2026: paid content for PS5, Xbox Series and PC, with two new starting classes, four new armour sets and three new appearances for Torrent. As of the end of September 2026, no new story DLC has been announced.

Is there a new Elden Ring DLC in 2026?

Yes and no. The content released on 28 August 2026 is called the Tarnished Pack: it comes alongside the release of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 and arrives at the same time on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. It isn’t an expansion with a new region and new bosses like Shadow of the Erdtree; it’s more of a customisation pack.

If you’re waiting for a proper sequel to the adventure in the Lands Between, you’ll have to be patient: Bandai Namco and FromSoftware haven’t announced anything like that for now.

What the Tarnished Pack includes

  • Two new starting classes: the Heavy Knight and the Idus Knight, according to their English names.
  • Four new armour sets, including the two outfits for these classes.
  • Three new appearances for Torrent, your mount.

The pack is paid and sold separately on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It doesn’t change progression: it’s mainly a good excuse to restart a run with a new character.

Shadow of the Erdtree, the benchmark expansion

Two years after its release, Shadow of the Erdtree is still the only story DLC for Elden Ring. It adds a new region, the Realm of Shadows, with its own bosses, weapons and spells, plus a dedicated progression system. To access it, you must have defeated two advanced bosses from the base game. If you haven’t done that yet, it’s by far the richest piece of content to discover today.

What PC do you need to play Elden Ring and its DLCs?

Elden Ring isn’t very demanding, and on PC it’s limited to 60 frames per second. A recent PC can run it at maximum in 1440p. The official configuration on Steam:
