Gaming laptop Black Friday 2026: laptop or desktop PC?
A gaming laptop has to fit the screen, keyboard, battery and cooling into just a few centimetres of thickness. That comes with a cost: for the same price, the graphics card is less powerful than in a tower, and you can hardly upgrade anything apart from memory and storage.
A desktop PC, on the other hand, cools more easily, can be upgraded piece by piece, and delivers more frames per second for the same budget. That’s why, for gaming at home, we almost always recommend a tower.

Black Friday gaming laptop PC: what you pay extra
A detail that helps avoid a lot of disappointment: a laptop RTX has the same name as the desktop card, but it runs at a power envelope set by the laptop manufacturer. So a laptop “RTX 5060” will be slower than a desktop RTX 5060. NVIDIA, for example, announces a power range of 45 to 100 W for the laptop RTX 5060, and 60 to 115 W for the laptop RTX 5070 Ti, depending on the model.

When a gaming laptop is the right choice
